Staying safe and healthy
Before you put on your headset
Pay attention to your surroundings, many injuries can be prevented by stretching out your arms slowly at first to see what your reach is.
If you spend a long amount of time take short breaks to get up, drink something, stretch, whatever.
Set a timer. You don’t have to get off just because the timer goes off but you will be more aware of how much time has passed.
Check your safety settings, be ready to go into safe mode if there is ever an overstimulating situation.
While wearing your headset
Just talk to people. There are exceptions but most people in the metaverse are very friendly.
Make friends, connect with people and learn how to communicate and meet up.
Respect your body. If you feel slightly nauseous stop playing. Do not push yourself. You will develop your VR legs quicker if you take breaks when you feel any problems.
Report glitches and disruptive people. The metaverse is young and they creators need our feedback in order to address our concerns.
